TV 03 - Heidi

German/Swiss TV adaptation of the classic novel from 1978. I remember the BBC made a big thing about finding children to dub it into English and introduced the voice-over artists on Blue Peter. But is was the theme tune that was to stay with me more than anything, it just will not leave me alone to this day. Also, with a staggering 24 episodes the series seemed to go on for ages - but at least Heidi foiled the terrorists and saved the president!

TV Fact - German born actress Brigitte Horney, who played the Grandmamma character, also appeared in another children's TV program - 'Huckleberry Finn and Friends' as Aunt Polly.
