Film 023 - The Seventh Seal (1957)

Original Title - 'Det sjunde inseglet'

Directed by - Ingmar Bergman

I've been meaning to watch this film since - well, since I first saw it parodied in Woody Allen's 'Love and Death'. But I'm afraid to say that for me it just wasn't worth the wait.

I know it's an iconic classic but possibly too much 'moody' black and white water has passed under the bridge and too many films since have copied the idea of playing chess with Death - or in the case of Bill and Ted playing Battleships, Cluedo! and Twister ("They Melvin'd me!")

Best Scene - Death having a Wile E. Coyote moment when he saws down a tree to kill the man hiding in it (which is surely cheating! Isn't it?)
