Film 009 - Amelie (2001)

‘Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain’

Director - Jean-Pierre Jeunet

"One person can change your life forever"

We return once again to Paris but move now to the fairytale like Montmartre to see the 'fabulous destiny' of Amélie Poulain - a girl who, thanks in part to Princess Diana - decised to help change the lives of other people for the better. But can so do the same for herself?

Stunning cinematography, an excellent cast and a charming plot make this a memorable movie. Although it deserves being high in the top 100 list my personal favourite by Jeunet is still ‘Delicatessen’, but as that is also on the list I can indulge myself later.

Classic scene – When Nino asks the four photographs of the same man if Amélie is pretty, three say “Not bad” but the last “No, beautiful”…
